Recently, I’ve decided to shine.
Shine! Shine some more.
Then move as if I’m already living in a victory.
This sounds if I’ve been living in California too long.
Maybe this is true.
What if this way of thinking and being is long overdue?
It has a name…
Being Unreasonable.
Part of being unreasonable is no longer watching bullshit and saying “oh well”.
I am looking for what Barbara Walters refers to as the “big fight”.
No point in wasting good energy, thinking and planning on absolutely everything that comes down the pike.
What about a quiet ongoing resistance that lends itself to a cultural shift?
I think of my beloved bell hooks and Daisaku Ikeda.
Neither of these revolutionaries are loud and dependent on domination.
Neither of these revolutionaries substitutes content and character for cunning, charisma and charm.
Instead, each of these bellwethers of freedom provides ample opportunities for folks to step up and manage their own lives.
